The new extended version of the samos PRO COMPACT safety controller from Wieland electric offers six functions for safe monitoring of speed, position and direction
The increasing degree of automation of processes also requires more monitoring. Whether in machines, plants, autonomous vehicles, elevators or wind turbines: To protect people and machines, motion monitoring is becoming increasingly important. This motion monitoring can be optimally implemented with safety controllers.
The motion sensors of the samos PRO COMPACT safety controller detect pulses of up to 70 kHz, and the controller converts these into speed, angle, position and direction.
The motion functions implemented according to EN 61800-5-2 compare the actual values with the limit values:
If a limit value or range is exceeded, the corresponding safety measures start, such as stopping the motor, locking or unlocking doors, or triggering an alarm.
