Caution when cleaning gas detectors

Scroll

Overview

Personal protection gas detectors are worn very close to the breathing organs to be appropriately effective

In times of COVID 19 it is even more important to clean the warning monitors thoroughly! Gas warning monitors are worn within 15 to 23 centimeters of your nose and mouth. Unfortunately, this means that dirt, debris or bacteria attached to the device is now in your breathing zone.

No common disinfectants

Why should you not use common disinfectants?

Under no circumstances should alcohol-based disinfectants be used as the alcohol will attack the precision sensors and disable their function.

What are sensor poisons?

Sensor poisons are substances that attach to the pellistor sensor and permanently damage your device.

Inhibitors affect functioning of your device and cause desensitization of the pellistor and shorten its life.

What chemicals and substances are hazardous to the device?

- Household cleaners and lubricants

- Silicone-based agents

- Products containing sulfur compounds

- Inhibitors such as: astatine, bromine, fluorine, chlorine, and iodine
