Overview
The In-Sight D900 is equipped with In-Sight ViDi deep learning image processing software.
With this deep learning camera, you get reliable assembly verification and defect detection applications that are also very difficult or impossible for humans to detect, reliably, quickly, and consistently.
Cognex has introduced a new camera with In-Sight ViDi™ software designed very specifically for deep learning applications. It helps users in factory automation where it is very difficult or impossible for conventional vision tools, or even humans, to perform sophisticated assembly inspection and defect detection applications. The IS D900 can also be easily and intuitively parameterized without a PC.

Optical character recognition of highly
deformed and skewed codes
The In-Sight ViDi Read tool is ready to use out of the box and dramatically reduces development time thanks to the pre-trained deep learning font library.
As new characters are introduced, the ViDi Read tool can be retrained without vision knowledge to read application-specific codes that traditional OCR tools cannot decode.
Complex defect detection tasks

The In-Sight ViDi Detect tool learns from images of defect-free parts to detect defective parts. ViDi Detect is ideal for finding anomalies on complex parts and surfaces, even in situations where the appearance of defects can be unpredictable.
Intuitive user interface of the In-Sight spreadsheet interface
In-Sight Spreadsheet simplifies application development and streamlines integration into plant networks with a complete I/O and communications feature set. It also enables the combination of traditional Cognex rule-based vision tools (such as PatMax Redline) with deep learning tools in the same project, resulting in faster execution and shorter cycle times.

In-Sight ViDi applications using the In-Sight D900 can be implemented without a PC. The IP67-rated modular deep learning vision system includes field-replaceable lighting, lenses, filters and covers that can be customized for your specific application needs. It also includes an integrated inference engine specifically designed to handle complex deep learning applications at demanding production speeds.

HMI
With mobile, platform-independent visualization, the In-Sight D900 vision system provides direct access to human machine interfaces (HMIs) via In-Sight ViDi software. Using a simple point-and-click interface, customers can create interactive, web-based HMIs that can be accessed over the network using a web browser.
